MOMents with Laarni Lozada

The award-winning celebrity talk show “MOMents” of Net 25 hosted by  Ms. Gladys Reyes had their latest episode last June 30, 2018 with the Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 grand champion and Ethereal Diva herself, Laarni Lozada.

Net25 has been very supportive since Laarni started her showbiz career. They invited Laarni several times for the promotions of her albums, songs, and shows.

In celebration of PDA’s 10th year anniversary, Laarni inspired the crowd as she tackles her journey in Pinoy Dream Academy.

“My fascination in music started when I was only 5 years old. It’s really my dream to become a singer”, she said. This is truly a hint that she wanted to really dig down into the music industry.

At the very young age, this star was able to envision herself to have a singing career and so after high school, she flew her way to Manila and auditioned in PDA Season 2. All of the hard work paid off as she got accepted to be part of the competition.

Laarni’s fruitful journey in PDA wouldn’t be possible without the help of the genius people who molded her talent. (Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab, Direk Joey Reyes, Over-all Voice Mentor – Ms. Kitchy Molina, Voice Mentor – Monet Silvestre, Voice Teachers – Lindy and Anna, Diction/Speech Mentor – Von Arroyo, Dance Mentors – Teacher Georcelle Dapat and Maribeth Bichara, Acting Performance Mentor – Malou de Guzman).

After 3 months of staying inside the academy, Laarni’s Grand Star Dreamer title has earned her a place in the stable talents of ABS-CBN. She has made appearances in many TV and radio programs such as ASAP, Boy & Kris, Umagang Kay Ganda, Sharon, The Buzz, Entertainment Live, The Singing Bee, Wowowee, Net25, WRR / MOR 101.9, Love Radio, YES FM, DZMM Showbiz and many more.

“I was extremely happy because of PDA, I was able to sing with the big stars like Zsa-Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Sheryn Regis, Rachelle Ann Go, Sarah Geronimo, Christian Bautista and Jed Madela”, she utter.

Laarni also worked with the various people who trusted her talent and guided her on her fast-rising singing career. Some of them are the prominent directors in ABS-CBN – her former managers, Direk Lauren Dyogi and Mr. Johnny Manahan, Kapamilya staff, DJs, anchors, actors/actresses.

Aside from TV and radio appearances, she had various shows and concerts here and abroad; received multiple awards, sponsors, and endorsements.

She released her self-titled debut album under Star Records – LAARNI LOZADA, spawning the hit single Kung Iniibig Ka Niya which was penned by one of the most prolific composers in the Philippines, Vehnee Saturno. This song was the official soundtrack of the ABS-CBN soap opera entitled Kambal Sa Uma. Her second single, a revival of the hit song Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita which was originally sung by Roselle Nava also became an OST of ABS-CBN’s Precious Hearts Romances series entitled Alyna. Her first original song entitled Manalig Ka (her winning piece in PDA) was one of the great masterpieces of Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab is a bonus track from their album SCHOLARS SING CAYABYAB. 2lnjvx0.png

This album earned Laarni a gold-record and took the highest award as a Best New Female Recording Artist’ on the 22nd Awit Awards.

“After ng PDA, syempre bata pa po ako no’n, nakakagulat paglabas ng bahay kasi hindi ito yung buhay ko before… Kailangan maayos ka palagi, eh di ako marunong sa fashion and make up.

But behind the fame, Laarni went through a massive depression because of her bashers. As new to being known, she had no idea how to handle harsh criticisms, thus, she was not able to defend herself. Those people who hate her don’t have an idea that the woman they were trying to bring down has been experiencing depression due to lack of physical support from her family (in the province), family/love conflicts, and burned-out because of her supporters’ expectations.

During the upsurge of this issue, Laarni chose to conceal herself from the limelight and decided to fight her depression on her own. It was not easy for her but she braved herself to get through it.

Apart from the pressure in the show business, Laarni also focused on her studies and, no doubt, she is indeed an achiever as she finished her degree (BS Education) with flying colors in Philippine Women’s University.susa.jpg

Laarni went to the U.S.A. where her Aunt Linda lives. She took a break for a while.

She joined the one of a kind international contest where Jed Madela is one of the mentors, World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, LA California. Laarni showed once again that her talent can give her 5 medals (4 golds and 1 silver) in this competition.

But the story doesn’t stop there. After a few years of silence, our Ethereal Diva successfully coped up with depression and renewed with a strong spirit and someone with peace of mind.

As she came back, she recorded a new song for the official soundtrack of ABS-CBN’s teleserye – Galema, Anak Ni Zuma entitled “Huwag Ganyan”.

She was also invited to be part of the Kapamilya Champions on ASAP.

Before the program ends, Laarni didn’t forget to leave ample pieces of advice to those who are battling with depression.

“Always live a simple life and be contented with what you have. Never detach yourself from your family and friends. Involve yourself in helpful activities such as traveling, going to the gym, reading good books/bible, writing down your thoughts, be optimistic, never compare yourself to others to avoid frustrations, listening to happy music, be generous and be grateful. Surround yourself with good friends who are always there to support you and bring out the best in you. And most importantly, talk to God because he’s just there to listen and help you.”

She also mentioned to always keep your friends and God close to you.

“Sa bible, lagi kong binabasa ‘yung Book of Job. Sabi doon, kahit mawala na daw ang lahat – money, material things, family, mga anak niya, asawa, lahat-lahat pero hindi talaga siya bumitaw kay God. Binigyan pa siya ng sakit. So ‘yun! Sabi ko okay lang, kahit mawala kayong lahat, mawala ‘yung fame, basta ang importante nandiyan lang Siya.”

Laarni Lozada is truly an epitome of a strong-independent woman. Let’s also never forget the line she uttered at the end of the show, “After mong madapa, babangon ka”.

As Laarni didn’t give up on her dreams, she came back with a new single “Ikaw Yun” under LST Productions, composed by Mr.  Arnold Reyes and Lorna Sun Tobias and few days after the rise of this new single, she received numerous radio and tv guesting invitations.

Recently, Laarni was tagged as the Voice and Ambassador of Youth Revolution, an advocacy who helped the young ones how to fight depression. This is truly a concrete proof that she never let depression take away the sunshine in her. She believed in herself and she’s pretty sure that God is always there to guide and provide.

Laarni Lozada as the Voice and Ambassador of Youth Revolution

The coalition of different civic groups headed by Atty. Candelaria “Candy” Rivas and Ms. Rita Villareal (Principal of Capiz National High School) conceptualized an event that helped a lot of students in response to the alarming rate of suicide caused by depression among the youth in all parts of the country.

The said event featured the ABS-CBN Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Champion / Ethereal Diva, Laarni Lozada, who brought an awe-inspiring entertainment to the participants. It was a jam-packed afternoon concert as Laarni performed her hits and inspirational songs. Aside from sharing her singing talent, Laarni has become a source of inspiration for the youth.

Message from Laarni’s Instagram:

sobrang saya ko kc we had a very successful event at Roxas City Capiz. punong puno po ang Capiz Gymnasium yesterday. To those who watched and attended the “Youth Revolution” headed by my Aunt Attorney Candy Rivas thank you! Hope everyone will continue to support our advocacy and let us continue to pray not only for the youth, but also for the people battling depression etc.. Good day! 💕❤ #angkabataanangpagasangbayan”

The advocacy was also supported by a lot of artists such as Aegis band, Ms. Imelda Papin and Ms. Claire dela Fuente.

Watch the videos from Aegis, Imelda Papin and Claire dela Fuente here:

It was a well-applauded and successful event indeed as the students have been facilitated and taught how to battle depression. In today’s era, it is not rare for young people to feel down or experience mood swings. Adolescence is a stage of life where a teenager is confused with physical, emotional, psychological, and social changes happening in their daily lives.

The journey of this advocacy will not end here as per Atty. Rivas. Supporting her were the various working people for the Lord and Vice-Governor Nonoy Contreras. Their group is planning to spread the spiritual revival in our country with the guidance and blessing of the Lord.
